The Centre for Gender Studies features well-developed research activities based on feminist theory and methodology. Researchers at the Centre are prominent in further developing and problematising the understanding of gender and gender relations. They have a long tradition of weaving together post-colonial and queer theory within the framework of what is today conceptualised as intersectionality. The Department is interdisciplinary and research at the Centre covers a broad area including queer history, performance, development and critical race studies, technology and science studies, studies of inequality and social change.
